These wovens and prints combine Jamie’s bold and sophisticated sense of color and style with Schumacher’s dedication to timeless design and textiles of the highest quality. “Whereas most elements of interior design are strictly visual, fabric also engages the sense of touch. It gets to tickle the eye and seduce the skin. What a joy it’s been to visually provoke and satiate those tactile yearnings through crafting my new collection with Schumacher,” Jamie said. “I have followed fashion my entire life and I think one can see how it has informed the collection. From silk tweeds to striped cottons it’s more like dressing the sofa than upholstering it. I like to think that if Tara had been decorated in my fabrics, Scarlett wouldn’t have stopped with the curtains. She would have ripped up the sofas and chairs too to make a whole wardrobe!” “It was truly a pleasure to work with Jamie to develop these designs,” said Susan North, Vice President of Design for Schumacher. “It was wonderful to collaborate with someone with such a keen eye for color and scale, and who was enthusiastic, energetic and personally involved in each step of the creative process.” Silks, velvets, lampas and moiré take on a decidedly modern point of view in this exciting new collection. From unexpected twists on tweed to sophisticated silks to luxurious lampas, this collection embodies contemporary American glamour. A festive mélange of color and texture, Babe’s Tweed uses natural silk and novelty yarns to add a touch of whimsy to the Jamie Drake Collection. Fun, fabulous and fashion-forward, Babe’s Tweed is ideal for draperies, and can be backed for upholstery application. This style is available in four colorways: Granny Smith, Maraschino, Woods and Manhattan. Simply captivating, the shimmering moiré surface of Raindrops is sprinkled with a pattern of small circles. Raindrops is a blend of wool, which gives this fabric wonderful drape, and viscose, which creates a bit of shine. Both glamorous and durable, Raindrops works equally well for both drapery and upholstery applications. This fabric is available in six colorways: Wedge of Lime, Espresso, Ripe Tomato, Platinum Band, Orchid and Pearl Onion. Jamie’s take on classic velvet is anything but square! A decadent combination of silk velvet and metallic yarns, Not Square is a simply stunning fabric that will work equally well in both modern and classic settings. It is available in seven saturated colorways: Lady Slipper, Lagoon, Lime Rickey, Espresso, Honey, Steel and Margaux. Inspired by paintings in Jamie’s personal art collection, Jazzed turns the classic double beam stripe into an extraordinary celebration of color. Available in four colorways that range from snappy to dramatic, Jazzed coordinates perfectly with all of the patterns in Jamie’s collection. Jazzed is available in Cosmopolitan, Pernod, Bloody Mary and Vineyard. Jamie’s love of jewelry inspired Cabochon, a rich silk velvet design named for polished gemstones that are smoothly rounded rather than faceted. Cabochon features richly colored velvet circles scattered across a cotton ground. A deft mix of cut and loop weaves creates an interesting interplay of color between the various circular motifs. Cabochon is available in three colorways: Debussy, Dizzy Gillespie and Beethoven. Jamie continues his circle leitmotif with Bubble Lounge, a bold and shimmering burnout sheer that will add a hip vibe to any décor. Made in Switzerland, Bubble Lounge is available in two colorways, Coconut and Champagne. Bold and dramatic, Blades is the statement piece in Jamie’s collection. Woven in France in a luxurious lampas quality, Blades features stylized blades of grass in an attention-getting scale. Jamie’s sure hand with color is evidenced in this pattern’s two highly sophisticated colorways – Lush Summer Lawn and Vineyard. Temple Garden is a modern take on the traditional tree of life pattern. Inspired by Jamie’s far eastern travels, this 100% linen handprint was adapted from the stone relief carvings of the temples at Angkor Wat in Cambodia, which he describes as “a true wonder, an overgrown dream, lush with vegetation in a romantic setting.” A great drapery, Temple Garden is available in five colors, from bold and graphic to fresh and bright: Appletini, Clear Skies, Beaches, Pepper and Bittersweet. “We are thrilled to have collaborated with Jamie on this collection, and we know our clients will love his designs as much as we do,” said Susan North. The Schumacher brand is known for textile and wallcovering design of the highest quality. Its signature looks encompass a diversity of design and include classic luxurious silks and European derived wovens as well as innovative modern designs gathered from sources around the world. Historic interpretations and reproductions, often in collaboration with museums and historic foundations, have also been a central part of the Schumacher heritage and continue in our collections today. The Schumacher brand has been a consistent resource for the essential needs of interior designers, from versatile sheers and solids to opulent textures and velvet plains.
