Somerset Trimmings–inspired by the intricate details discovered in archival sources–was designed to complement Schumacher’s well-known printed linens and upholstery textures. Hints of metallic thread, glass and faceted beads as well as natural materials infuse glamour and glint into the elegant tassels, cords, bullion fringes, braids and accessories. Finely spun yarns with a natural hand were used to weave the delicate details of these trimmings bringing a refined yet more informal appearance to a wide range of interiors. Arranged as a five-binder set in color palettes, the Somerset Trimmings collection is an invaluable resource for interior designers. In discussing the Somerset Trimmings Collection, Schumacher’s VP of Design, Susan North comments, “In developing this collection, we approached it as if we were designing luxurious jewelry-like accents to our fabric offerings.”
Plein Air Trimmings, Schumacher’s second introduction for the season, has a breezy look suited for the outdoors but perfectly at home indoors. This collection features a coordinated selection of brightly colored braids, cords, fringes, ruches and even a casual rope tie back. The palette features clear corals, marine blues, lime greens, neutrals and an all-ivory selection designed to complement Schumacher’s newly introduced and existing indoor/outdoor woven and printed fabrics from Plein Air. These accessories are durable as well as sophisticated with an extensive range of performance characteristics such as lightfastness, washability and weather resistance.
