Schumacher launches The Trina Turk Collection for spring 2009. The casually sophisticated indoor/outdoor printed fabrics feature signature patterns adapted from Trina Turk’s stunning apparel and inspired by the architecture, landscape and lifestyle of Southern California.
The Trina Turk Collection features a monochromatic Bamboo Forest Print, a coastal Pisces Print, and an animal skin-inspired Zebra Print, which all reflect Trina Turk’s modern interpretations of nature. Using bright, breezy colorways–predominately blues, citrus shades, and earth tones–the spring collection reflects California living.
Peacock Print, a dynamic flamestitch-style pattern inspired by ikat, is a bold indoor/ outdoor fabric that works everywhere from upholstered chairs to curtains and cushions. Adapted from Trina Turk’s vintage apparel collection, the modern one-color print, Sunglasses, is a chic and graphic design. Super Paradise Print, derived from exotic Asia motifs in three punchy colorations, is a modern pattern of dramatic medallions scaled perfectly for cushions and pillows.
Trina Turk is best known for her wearable, optimistic sportswear and swim collections. Launched in 1995, Trina Turk apparel is now available in Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdales. During 2002, Turk opened her first boutique in Palm Springs, followed by stores in Los Angeles, New York and Newport Beach. In May of 2008, Trina Turk Residential introduced the designer’s signature prints to the home market.
